WELCOME TO ZELVARA

Where the jungle meets the Pacific.
And the day finds its own rhythm.

Morning light through the trees. Coffee before plans. The sound of the coast a little way down the road. Villa Zelvara is a place to gather your people, settle in, and enjoy this small corner of Costa Rica.

Pura vida. Welcome home.

01 / THE VILLA

Room for your people.
Space for yourself.

Natural materials, open living spaces, and the garden just beyond the door. A villa that adapts to the way you want to stay.

One villa. Two homes.

With the connecting doors open, two mirrored spaces become one six-bedroom villa. Closed, they form two independent three-bedroom homes, each with its own entrance and kitchen.

The Upstairs Studio and Upstairs Loft also have independent entrances. Tell us who’s coming, and we’ll help you find the right arrangement.

02 / THE PLACE

A small village.
A whole world outside.

Cabuya sits at the southern end of the Nicoya Peninsula, near Montezuma and the Cabo Blanco reserve. Life here moves between the forest, the village, and the sea.

Walk to the coast. Explore with local guides. Watch for macaws in the trees. Leave room for the things you didn’t plan.

More than a place to sleep.
A place to be here.

Good food, time outside, and a few local introductions. We can help shape your stay around what matters to you.

Fresh tropical fruit from the Costa Rican coast
AT THE TABLE

Food from the coast.

Fresh fish, tropical fruit, and time around one table. Ask about a private chef dinner with Laura of Las Delicias.

AT YOUR OWN PACE

A slower morning.

Coffee on the balcony, a quiet moment on the deck, or a yoga class arranged for your group. There’s room to do a little less.

ROOTED IN COSTA RICA

Every road
brings us back here.

For Mauricio, this coast is home. Childhood days in the surf, fruit from the trees, and friendships made without a shared language became the beginning of Zelvara.

The villa carries that same spirit: a warm welcome, a connection to the place, and memories you can take with you.

A few things before you come.

Which spaces are private?

Your booked indoor space is yours. If you book one home, other guests may be staying in the other. The gardens, yoga deck, entrance, driveway, and laundry are shared unless you’ve arranged exclusive use.

Is there a swimming pool?

The villa has no pool. The coast is nearby; swimming conditions vary with the tides and weather.

What is green season like?

Rain is part of life here, and outdoor plans may change. Roads can be muddy; a 4×4 is recommended in green season. We can help you plan your arrival.

Can we bring pets or hold an event?

Pets are welcome with care for the villa’s furnishings. Parties and events aren’t part of a standard stay. Please talk to us about your plans before booking.
